Fashion Photography on the New York skyline The famous fashion magazine, Harper's BAZAAR opted to celebrate its 150th anniversary in a very chic way, by projecting 150 of its most iconic images on the Empire State Building. New York photographer Kenny Rodriguez shares some of the best moments with us.

On 19 April, from 8.30 pm to midnight, New York's Empire State Building was turned into a huge screen with the projection of 150 of the most iconic images that have graced the pages of the renowned magazine Harper's BAZAAR over the last 150 years. An incredibly eye-catching way to celebrate the 150th birthday of the first fashion magazine in the world, which from the time it was founded showcased major talents first from the world of literature and illustration and then of photography to give a running narrative of the latest fashion and lifestyle trends.
Kenny Rodriguez, a professional photographer from New York heard about the light show organised by Harper's BAZAAR with the help of Tiffany and Co. and went to the Rockefeller Center to snap the different moments of the light show dedicated to fashion photography. His bird's-eye view means we get to see not only the models and celebrities portrayed in Harper's BAZAAR and projected on one of Manhattan's most popular historical skyscrapers but also the urban context in general, thereby giving a specific spatial reference to the projections.
Kenny Rodriguez's visual storytelling skillfully combines his capacity to exploit light with the history of fashion photography from its birth and shares with us his vision of the “illuminated” coming together of architecture icon and fashion icons.
